Welp, I’m flat on my back and tested positive for Covid, so here, have some music links:
A few days after the Russian invasion, Ukrainian Andriy Khlyvnyuk of the band BoomBox posted on Instagram a video of him singing acapella “Red Viburnum in the Meadow,” a patriotic folk song of WWI, in Kyiv’s silent Sofiyskaya Square. Pink Floyd has recorded backing instrumentation to his vocals, and released it as their first new song since 1994: Hey Hey Rise Up (feat. Andriy Khlyvnyuk). The YT description has more context, and Wikipedia has lyrics and translation. (via)
Performed at the Kennedy Center, “Moonlight” Sonata, Dubstep Remix. (via YouTube suggestion)
Performed by James Hill, “Billie Jean” on ukulele. (via YouTube suggestion)
