A brief Eaglet update

Achievement unlocked: tying shoelaces.

(They claimed this morning they've reached level 2 ka-ching! -- which is also knowing a double knot.)

This is something they deliberately challenged themselves to learn -- they chose to get laces shoes during the latest equipment upgrade* in order to force figuring it out.


* We're at the OMG-need-new-shoes-every-three-months stage of growth, eep.

It is -- and it's a trait that's been there since we met them: as a toddler, they would seek out rough terrain challenging to new balance, right up to the edge of Nope Can't Do That. Ditto playground structures, as they aged up into types of climbers. They have, over they years, asked us to quiz them on the alphabet, giving addition and subtraction problems, and recently stretching on multiplication, all as prods to learning (rather than ways of showing off acquired knowledge, which they do differently). It's great fun to watch.
