Poems of Places, an anthology edited by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow in the 1870s. Though "anthology" somewhat understates the scope -- "compendium" perhaps? Over 4200 poems organized by location described.

Regardless, something that will take a while to digest. There's a lot of world.

I've comes to the reluctant conclusion that while the 2012 one is the better video, 2008 (as overdramatic as it is) has the better song.

I like the 2008 song better too, but I do also like this song a whole lot. And as for the videos, while 2012 is *excellent* as a political/social statement, and for overall coherence (and is very moving--as they all are--but it, too, in the tradition), I like the 2008 one for the more-variety of people. This one is very *white* somehow, in spite of him also getting to various places in Africa.
