Here's a very well-made animated video with a baby tortoise (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVAZh8UGbxo) theme. It puts life into sand and makes me care about it.

I should add that it makes me sad.

It may or may not be. I watched it again last night, and it occurs to me that maybe the kid with the bucket helped it into the water.

Or maybe all life is futile.

Overall, it still makes me sad. It's beautiful, though. The animators really looked at their subject. Unflinchingly, you could say.
