I have no brain, not even enough to write up rereading Fruits Basket, so clearly the thing to do make a poll.

Suppose, just for the sake of a hypothetical, someone was writing cycle of daily short poems documenting a year of Arizona desert life. What would be the best date for the cycle to start? This could be for logical, logistical, aetiological, dramatic, or any other reasons.

Autumn equinox is an approximate -- really it's whenever the monsoons end that the desert year begins, as we all wake up and come out of hibernation.

Though for poetry collection purposes, one could argue for the start of spring as a better starting (and thus ending) place.

Spring, when the desert blooms. When better to start the year than with life and color?

Maybe the Monsoon is a moveable feast, like Passover. Start with spring, whenever you decide that is. If it's Feb. then the Ides of February? Groundhog Day? Valentine's Day? Candlemas?
