Your mention of origami gives me an excuse (as if I needed one) to point you to this site: Crease Patterns (http://www.langorigami.com/art/creasepatterns/creasepatterns.php4). The examples shown in the images look impossible to me, but clearly someone managed them.

Yeah, well, Lang is way above us mere mortal folders. Though, now that I've read his book about them, I sorta understand how to use them.
