We interrupt our usual stream of divertimenti for a comment of limited interest to those outside the States. If you are one, I beg your indulgence and offer you a moon music generator in compensation.

For the Americans among us who worry about illegal immigrants getting access to public health insurance, I have two quotes:
But the stranger that dwells with you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God. —Leviticus 19:34
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself. —Luke 10:27
The latter is, of course, part of the lead-up to the parable of the Good Samaritan, with its emphatic message that those from other countries and other religions are our neighbors in this sense -- that everyone is.

(It has been a while *cough* since I attended Meeting, but I am proud that the Meeting I attend was front and center in the Sanctuary Movement. I fail to see how anyone can be Christian yet oppose immigrant rights.)
