Whee -- it's been a month since I've been here. I hadn't intended that, but I've been pulling back my time online (aside from essential for work activities) including, especially, less time spent on my phone's tiny screen -- and DW was one place that I lost the habit of visiting. Oops.

Hope all are well, with no major catastrophes amongst. (If there were any, sorry I wasn't more supportive.)

Still looking for a full-time job. I've scrounged up a couple freelance gigs, but only short ones, and not really enough to make all the ends meet. If anyone knows of any remote-friendly work, either technical writing, technical editing, or general copy editing or proofreading, I'd appreciate a pointer.

Otherwise, things are well. Eaglet is just back from three days at Disneyland, a treat from Grandma, and tired enough to be very reluctant to return to school. (Schools here are off for two days during the winter Rodeo -- welcome to the West.) And so it goes.

Complicated, but many things in it are okay. Most recently I watched a lot of movies.

When I've needed work-from-home gigs I've often turned to transcription -- it can often be done from home for remote companies and usually pays a not fantastic but not terrible per-hour rate if you're a relatively speedy typist.

I’ve been eyeing that. My main hesitation is that unless the speech is clear and in an accent I’m familiar with, I often have trouble making out words — I usually have to hear a song several times before I know what it’s about.
