The ancients: JUST LIKE US!

My favorite example: a Sumerian letter from the 19th century BCE by a merchant writing to his son in another city saying, No I won’t send you more money, all young people these days care about is fashionable clothes and parties, instead of getting ahead by hard work like in my day.

You can all but hear the cane thumping.

There's another one, also Sumerian, where a young boy writes to his father and says that if he doesn't get to go on the next trip, he's not going to go to his lessons. SO THERE.

But my favorite is snarky notes on bullets - which in this case is molded "stones" for slings. My absolute 100% favorite bullet motto reads, simply, "catch!"
