I've been breaking spaghetti into two for decades. I did not know that was a problem.

When done as a bundle, most of them break into only two pieces. When you do ONE spaghetti, it typically actually shatters into a few (typically three or four).

But I break one all the time. I pinch it, and it breaks between my fingers. (I used to eat them raw as a kid.)

Why would one want to break a spaghetto anyway? The whole point of the long length is to make it easy to eat!
