I sometimes get hung up on the petty rules. Like the one about how, if you want to refill your coffee, you have to take your mug into the break room. That sort of thing.
I know, it's unfair, isn't it? Like the way you have to be physically carrying your keys if you want to unlock a door. Material objects are so limiting. We should be above their rules.
Oh no! Now you've got me thinking about "Petty Rules I Have Known". My all time favorite was that to correct your timesheet, you had to strike through the incorrectly entered time with 2 strokes.
Saying that is, of course, understood by the Geneva Convention as an invitation to bend the letter of the law as many ways as you can. Two wavy strokes. Or parallel instead of crossed. Et cetera ad astra.
sometimes i wonder why we still have this totally unnecessary rule to type with your fingers on your computer instead of using the tta - telepathic typing application. i have so many lj entries in my head as long as i do not sit in front of my notebook... (voice recognition is a good step in the right direction, but not adaptive for a family of chatterboxes ;-))
as far as i know the brain network plugs failed the security tests - too much information was transmitted, from meaningless over embarrassing till too confidential. and the wireless connection has to be protected very strictly. as long as i still can login to the wireless networks of my neighbours (because they do not hide their networks nor protect them by password) i really do not want to have a wireless brain network plug... tmi =D
I read this, wondered how else one would get coffee, and had a sudden, odd image of a person poised with their mouth open underneath a coffee spout. Caveat bibitor.
