The article on the Rashômon Gate, the main south gate of the ancient city of Heian Kyoto, gives pictures first of a reconstruction of what it used to look like, then of the modern stone marker of its former location.

Which is in the middle of a playground.

It is protected by a tiny iron railing.

I giggle with delight -- in multiple directions.

Meh -- the railing is just another set of (slightly more boring) monkey bars. No real challenge to the determined climber.
