My copy of Romance of the Three Kingdoms was printed in Beijing, so misprints are perhaps to be expected. Maybe not one every other page, as here, but some. Fortunately, the most common sort is misformatting of footnotes and indented quotes, not affecting the meaning. This tyop, though, is priceless:
Wang Bi dashed out and saw wheels of lame rolling every which way.
The context is that insurgents have set fire to his army's encampment.

I think I need that text on an icon, though.

In other news (?), I see Wikipedia wins again: List of fictitious stories in Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Some of this has been annotated by the translator, but having the scorecard laid out like this is useful.

Wheels of lame are what rolls when what you said wasn't quite bad enough to qualify as Fail.

Or possibly they're wheels of gold lame, and the camp is under attack from the Elton John Insurgent Impersonators.
