Date: 3 February 2009 01:55 pm (UTC)I thought that EP the quote from Bulwer-Lytton or the guy who wrote the Tarzan series (Edgar Rice Burroughs!), but I don't have the actual book handy to look it up. If it's at my library, I'll check later.
It certainly seems like it could be a Bulwer-Lytton quote, and that someone in the B-L contest used it... So, now I've curious.
I think you must be really missing someone at this point... Hang in there!
