I've always said that if I ever get a tattoo, the first one would be e^iπ - 1 = 0. Which is more or less my test of whether I'm ready to get one -- if I'm willing to have that on me permanently.

Okay ... I must be a total science/math dweeb ... I haven't a clue what your equation is, let alone, means.

Yeah, it's a total math geek thing. That's e as in the base of the common logarithm, i as in the square root of minus 1, and pi as in the circle thing -- put them together like that, and you get the completely counterintuitive Euler's identity.

Or counterintuitive until about a third of the way through your first complex numbers class.

Ah, so it isn't just me. I think this journal style's code has gotten munged -- replies to comments are getting placed as replies to the main message, unless you view just the specific reply.

Time to change the layout -- I'm not completely happy with it anyway.
