First the web, then Earth, and now Mars. Google is going to take over the universe!

I'm sorry, the Chaucer/Pearl Poet slash has just transformed my day into something rich and strange.

Surely the Green Knight lends himself to slash? Also to other puns.

Maybe I'd better move and get to today's requisite book launch before things get worse. And worse they will become. My desk contains The Awntyrs off Arthur at the Terne Wathelyne, which totally lends itself to puns and slashy thoughts. I opened it at random and it infomed me "After Gaynour the gay Sir Gawayne is gone/And to that body hase he broghte that birde so bryghte."

Robert J Gates edited it. University of Pennsylvania Press 1969. I haven't seen any other edition and got my own copy through abebooks. You might want to check the TEAMS site in case they have snuck any of it online without me noticing.

You would like it, I suspect. Lots of lovely alliteration.

Somebody told me about the Chaucer blog last week, but dang if I can recall the person's identity.

This creature was moved by the weeping & wailing of Margery Kempe's posting (posted by a scribe no doubt) on Chaucer's blog. Does Margery have her own blog? If not, she needs one Post Hast!
