Speaking of shameless self-promotion, my hard SF romance, "Her First Affair," is in the current issue of Abyss & Apex. I like to think of it as an Analog story in couplets.

It's another example of Well-Versed Skiffy: good storytelling, good meter, good speculative fiction.

Congratulations!

A & A is a great magazine.

I finally had something I thought they would like all ready to send to them in June when they suddenly announced they weren't taking fiction indefinitely. I wish I was actually a good poet...:)

I've started reading Perdido Street Station, too. So far my comment on the city is "Nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure." Not one person in the book so far who isn't a scumbag of some kind or other. Except maybe the main garuda, and it's hard to know. I have a hard time reading books with no sympathetic characters, so not sure I'll finish it. No doubt I'll slog through in hopes that someone will reach some kind of redemption.

Oh, and congratulations. [sheepish grin]
