larryhammer: topless woman lying prone with a poem by Sappho painted on her back, label: "Greek poetry is sexy" (classics)
First off, my poem "Psyche, at Midnight, in the Dark" is live at the current issue of Goblin Fruit, where I am, to put it mildly, in very good company -- including [livejournal.com profile] sovay, [livejournal.com profile] rachelmanija, and [livejournal.com profile] shweta_narayan. Lots of dark, delicious faeryfruits on the vine.

ETA: Oy -- I completely forgot to give [livejournal.com profile] beth_bernobich a shout-out for her helpful beta-read on "Psyche".

Then some last bits of Yuletide business: recs for Ash the Stablehand, a gender-swapped Cinderella done perfectly and on point, and the novella Lord Wolfe and the Ape-Leader, which has the tags "Little Red Riding Hood/Beauty and the Beast, Fairytale crossover, Regency Bath, do highwaymen have boils?, insufferable yet handsome noblemen, winking! always winking!, awesome women, the dangers of ha-has, shocking behaviour, fopdoodles abound, a tête-à-tête with a potted plant, wolves committing improprieties, a deadly attack with a fan!, warning: this fic contains ninny-hammers, unladylike sprinting, an Hideous Hussar’s Hat, immodest plans, just like in a Mrs Radcliffe novel, the author of this fic rather likes Georgette Heyer and Jane Austen, warning: this fic contains a dreadful pun, arrroooooo!" From these I believe you can judge whether it is for you. It is not so much a Regency Romance as an affectionate parody of sub-Heyeresque Regencies with a few brisk nods to, especially, Northanger Abbey. Clearly we need more fanfic tagged "arrroooooo!"

Finally, I hate it when my 12-story building falls over.
