So for practice, I tried folding Lang's tarantula from regular kami, and got this:
Yeah, I'm made of fail. And I suspect that in translucent spider paper, it'll come out even worse -- even aside from trying to make the narshty repeated closed sinks in thicker paper, the stuff will be even more springy, resulting in a beast like a ghostly bombardier beetle, only more ghastily. In short, No.
However, I have an alternative -- Lang's orb spider:
