larryhammerThis weekend (6-8 May) I'll be at LepreCon 37. Which has an interesting structure, as this year there's a ShadowCon shadowed inside the con, devoted to Shadow Unit. I'm not a part of that, though. My schedule:
Underfoot in Arizona - There are whole worlds under your feet and all around. Come join us for an open talk about Arizona, its geological and natural wonders and how some of them have popped up in Science Fiction.
Fri 8p-9p. Randall Whitlock (Moderator), Larry Hammer, Ernest Hogan
Son of the Eye of Argon: Bad Poetry Reading - This is an audience-participation round-robin poetry reading. Bring your best bad stuff or read from the collections supplied. The only goal is to deliver a reading without laughing.
Sat 6p-7p. Larry Hammer
I'm on the former because of research for A Desert Year Or Whatever It's Called -- so, yes, I'm participating on a science panel with my poetry hat on, which amuses me. The latter is a reprise of the bad poetry reading I lead at TusCon last fall. I'll have on hand a curated collection of hard-to-read atrocious verse -- some of it old favorites, some new. Fun will be had, or I'll eat my beard.
Anyway, the general schedule is up, and if you're not interested in anything I'm in, there's bound to be something else to catch your fancy if you happen to be in Tempe.
