poetry, I recently did a week of women poets from the Kokinshu who are not Ono no Komachi, including an empress, an imperial concubine, a lady-in-waiting, an entertainer, and an otherwise unknown aristocrat. I've posted all these translations here before, but not threaded on such a string: Ise, mother of Ono no Chifuru, Mikuni no Machi/Ki no Kaneko, Shirome, and Fujiwara no Takaiko/Nijô Empress.
