larryhammer: floral print origami penguin, facing left (vanished away)
Telephone poles all over this part of town have handmade signs of stenciled spraypaint (of almost the exact same style as were mass-produced for Ron Paul's 2008 presidential campaign) trying to raise paranoia over airplane contrails. Yup, a chemtrail wingnut is about. Or maybe more than one, hard to tell. What makes the signs particularly amusing is that this is a desert: contrails cannot form without a certain amount of humidity in the air, and most of the year we don't have that. And even during what rainy seasons we have, they don't always show up except -- mostly as harbingers of storms.

So being told to look up and see for yourself? Er, yeah, not so much.

Also, the style is also particularly suited to parody:
WHAT are they CONDENSING in the SKY???
CLOUDBANKS
GOOGLE IT!

WHAT are they STUFFING in their FACES???
PRESERVATIVES
GOOGLE IT!

WHAT are they PUTTING on their FACES???
COSMETICS
GOOGLE IT!
And so on. Maybe, if enough people take it up, we can get a meme going. Feel free to get started in comments. Or, yanno, not.
