For the last week, I've been obsessively rewatching Where the Hell Is Matt?. Because, well, it's a thing of joy that stands up to repeated viewing. Some observations:

The editing is so excellently paced that, even though you know it will happen, it's a glorious moment when the crowds start rushing in (starting at 0:50).

Random Bollywood dancers are random fun (2:34).

Most of the crowd scenes have at least one toddler. If you find the youngest person in each scene, it's usually where the most interesting things are happening.

The most interesting dancer is the girl in front at Soweto (2:51). She knows how to move. I want to know what happens to her.

Doofy Tokyo maid cafe waitresses are dooftastic (2:07).

Sometimes you just have to give up with a laugh (1:41).

Everything's better with lemurs (3:14).

I still watch it from time to time. I love the opening sequences, with the goat on the bike, the dancing dog, red crabs on the sand. I also love the music. And much else :)

I've been obsessively re-watching it this week too. It's filled with such joy. (And the big wave dousing him makes me exclaim and laugh Every Time.)

Everything really is better with lemurs. :firm nod:

I love that the dog wanders into the Seattle shot. Sooooo Pacific Northwest. :P
