Our favorite Japanese restaurant* has a small imports shop attached. It now carries a selection specialty origami papers. Pretty stuff. Pushers are always dangerous.

My company recently changed owners and name, and among the rebranding swag was a cube, with the new logo on the side, of what looks like 1000 sheets of square notepaper. Being a sensible sort, I concluded it's supposed to be used for folding 1000 paper cranes. Which I have started doing during meetings.**

Today I had a 24 crane meeting.

Geese are flying south.
From mountain and valley folds
birds come to my hand.

* Which is not the same as our favorite sushi place.

** People are used to this. I've been bringing sheets from my origami-a-day calendar to meetings, and before that, the paper-airplane-a-day.

It's very cool that your work doesn't mind your doing origami at meetings.

A 24-crane meeting is, of course, much less cool.

That made me smile. Three times.

It would be so cool if you used the 1000 cranes to make a mobile or something. I just adore paper cranes. Airplanes, too come to think of it.

I love the idea of measuring your meeting time by the number of paper cranes you create.

Perhaps, I should start measuring mine by doodles. :-P
