I love this! I love the story, and I love your translation of the ballad-poem. All the repeating motifs of color and blossoms are great. I can't quite grasp with words what ties it all together, but it really feels like the imagery is all tied together, the colors and the petals and the barking dogs and the village -- all that everyday sensory detail, whisking by on the wind.
