Even granted that the restriction against lifting more than 10 pounds until a month after surgery is a good thing, I still resent not being able to take the Complete Shakespere off the shelf.

Yes -- for example, at the end of the Scottish Play, Macbeth and Duncan appear as glowing apparitions, redeemed, smiling beatifically at Malcolm as he is acclaimed as King. Also Duncan stabs first.
