This weekend at the Big Ditch, my parents saw condors soar overhead. In 2001, 12 endangered California condors were released in the Park, and as of last summer, nesting pairs had raised a total of at least three chicks to fledging. (I can't find news of whether a fourth chick survived.)

My father got pictures, too, to prove they were there. But I don't have a link to them.
