There are small signs that the Anthy we saw had some small amounts of free will. Akio could compell her, but he sometimes had to force her, and she could taunt him; occasional expressions; small tauntings of Nanami.
At this point, after sleeping on it, my biggest question right now is why/how Akio's goals came to diverge from Dios's, especially since the Anthy's remained constant -- to escape.
